Qatar is showing interest in hosting the 2036 Summer Olympics, according to a report by Reuters on August 11, 2024. The Gulf nation joins a growing list of countries and cities considering bids, including Indonesia, India, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach previously noted that interest in hosting the 2036 Olympics has attracted double-digit numbers of potential bidders.
The report also highlighted that Egypt plans to bid for both the 2036 and 2040 Olympics. Meanwhile, the next Summer Games are set for Los Angeles in 2028, with Brisbane, Australia, hosting in 2032.
