President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction rating saw a 13-point decline in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from December 12 to 18.
The survey revealed that 51% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos’ performance, 16% were neutral, and 32% were dissatisfied. This resulted in a net satisfaction score of +19, categorized as “moderate” by SWS. The figure dropped from a “good” +32 recorded in September 2024.
The SWS explained that net satisfaction is determined by subtracting the percentage of dissatisfied respondents from the satisfied ones.
Among regions, Marcos’ net satisfaction was highest in Balance Luzon at +38, retaining its “good” classification with minimal change from September’s +39. In Metro Manila, however, his rating fell by 16 points, moving from a “good” +36 to a “moderate” +20. Similarly, the Visayas registered a 13-point decline, dropping from +31 to +18.
Mindanao recorded the steepest drop, with a 34-point decline that shifted his rating from a “moderate” +16 in September to a “poor” -18 in December.
The nationwide survey, which involved face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults, included 1,080 respondents from Balance Luzon and 360 each from Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao. The survey has a margin of error of ±2% for national figures and ±3% to ±5% for regional results.
