Predator who lured child into car gets decade behind bars in Abu Dhabi

An Abu Dhabi court has imposed a 10-year prison sentence on a man convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old child inside his car, according to Gulf Today.

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court also ordered the confiscation of the vehicle used in the crime and established a protective perimeter around the victim’s home. The convicted man will be barred from living within five kilometers of the child’s residence once he completes his sentence.

The case emerged when a family member reported the assault, which occurred in a residential neighborhood close to where the child lived. Authorities determined that the perpetrator had enticed the young victim into his vehicle before committing the sexual assault.

Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution launched a comprehensive investigation that yielded compelling evidence against the defendant. Investigators traced the suspect’s vehicle to the crime scene on the day of the incident, with surveillance showing the car had stopped near a local school for an extended period before departing.

Forensic analysis provided crucial proof linking the accused to the crime. Laboratory examination of the vehicle uncovered the victim’s fingerprints inside the car, while DNA evidence confirmed genetic material from both the defendant and the child victim.

The court’s decision was based on this substantial body of evidence and technical documentation presented during proceedings. Beyond the lengthy prison term and vehicle seizure, the residential restriction represents an additional safeguard designed to protect the victim from potential future contact with the offender.
