Power interruptions expected at NAIA Terminal 2 due to scheduled maintenance

Travelers passing through Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are being advised to prepare for possible brief power outages during nighttime maintenance activities scheduled this September.

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp., the airport’s private operator, confirmed that Meralco Energy will conduct preventive maintenance operations on the following dates:

September 5 and 9

September 11 and 12

Each maintenance session will run from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., potentially affecting lighting, air-conditioning, and electrical outlets in certain parts of Terminal 2.

In a public advisory, the operator explained that these scheduled interruptions are part of broader efforts to upgrade and safeguard the airport’s electrical infrastructure.

“We are doing our best to keep any inconvenience to a minimum,” the statement read.

The maintenance aims to ensure long-term reliability of the airport’s power systems, especially as NAIA continues to modernize its services and facilities.
