Novo Cinemas at Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Mall has permanently closed its doors as of July 31, a representative from Nakheel, the mall’s managing company, confirmed in a Khaleej Times report. Residents noticed the closure when large boards covered the cinema section last Friday.
An Al Ghadeer resident expressed disappointment, saying, “It was our go-to cinema because it was less crowded, and all the films my son loves were shown here.”
While it remains unclear if another cinema chain will replace Novo Cinemas at the mall, the outlet has been marked as “permanently closed” on Google and is no longer listed on Novo Cinemas’ official website. The cinema was particularly popular among residents of southern Dubai communities, including Discovery Gardens, Jebel Ali, and Al Furjan.
