Abu Dhabi Police have released a dramatic video showing the severe consequences of unsafe driving, highlighting the dangers of stopping in the middle of the road.
The video features a minivan abruptly halting in a traffic lane with its hazard lights flashing. Although a bus and two cars narrowly avoided collisions, the situation worsened when passengers exited the minivan and attempted to cross the road, narrowly missing an oncoming vehicle. Moments later, another car crashed into the stationary minivan, causing it to swerve off the road and nearly strike pedestrians.
Authorities stressed the importance of avoiding such dangerous actions, urging drivers to pull over to the nearest exit if necessary, rather than stopping in traffic lanes. This precaution, they explained, ensures the safety of all road users and prevents potential accidents.
Abu Dhabi Police also emphasized the need for focus while driving and avoiding distractions to stay alert to sudden vehicle issues. Failing to address these concerns, they warned, can result in serious traffic incidents.
As part of the “Your Comment” safety initiative, Abu Dhabi Police regularly share real accident footage on social media to educate motorists on the consequences of reckless driving and promote proper road etiquette.
