Police arrest 4 suspects in Cebu teen’s death after town fiesta assault

A 15-year-old girl has died days after allegedly being sexually assaulted by multiple men during a town festival in Oslob, Cebu, police officials reported Monday.

The victim, identified only as “Analyn,” was reportedly approached by a group of men who offered her a drink at the Cuartel Heritage Park during the Oslob Grand Fiesta Celebration on December 9. According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the men allegedly took advantage of her intoxicated state and brought her to a secluded location where 13 men assaulted her.

Law enforcement has apprehended four suspects in connection with the case. The arrests took place Sunday evening in Barangay Casay, Dalaguete town. The suspects, identified only by their first names Luis, Cyrill, Tristan, and Kent, were reportedly visiting Oslob for the festival.

“By arresting these accused, we can bring justice to their families,” said CIDG chief Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III. “We will further intensify our program to provide citizens with a safe and orderly community.”

The four suspects are currently in CIDG custody and will face charges of statutory rape and homicide. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities still searching for the remaining suspects.

Analyn and her mother had reported the incident to police on December 12, just days before her death. The cause of death has not been disclosed by authorities.
