The Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) will participate in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025, scheduled from February 1 to 5 at Al Ruwayyah Training City, Dubai. This international competition gathers elite tactical units from over 25 countries, including 11 Arab teams, to showcase their skills in demanding scenarios.
PNP-SAF will compete in five events, including the Assault Event where teams overcome obstacles and breach doors using various weapon systems, and the Tactical Event, which tests precise communication and shooting under time pressure. The Officer Rescue event requires teams to save a “downed” officer while navigating obstacles. The Tower Assault challenge involves rappelling and target shooting, while the Obstacle Course tests physical endurance with 19 obstacles.
In the 2024 competition, PNP-SAF earned praise for their performance in the Officer Rescue and Tactical Events, showcasing teamwork and innovative strategies that impressed international judges. Their participation highlighted the Philippines’ law enforcement capabilities on the global stage.
The event fosters collaboration among global law enforcement units.
The UAE SWAT Challenge is open to the public. Visitors can witness intense competitions and explore the Heritage Village featuring local crafts, cooking stations, and cultural exhibits.
