PNP prepared to assist US authorities in cases against Apollo Quiboloy

The Philippine National Police (PNP) affirmed its readiness to cooperate in the legal matters surrounding Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy. Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo assured assistance to other concerned government agencies, such as the Department of Justice and Department of Foreign Affairs, as necessary.

The announcement follows Central District of California Judge Terry Hatter Jr.’s decision on March 7 to unseal arrest warrants against Quiboloy and his co-accused. These warrants were requested by the United States Attorney Criminal Division, linked to charges including sex trafficking conspiracy, sex trafficking of children, and cash smuggling.

New York lawyer Lara Gregory suggested that the unsealing could initiate Quiboloy’s extradition process by the US Department of Justice. Furthermore, INTERPOL might issue Red Notices against Quiboloy and his associates.

Despite this development, Fajardo stated that the PNP has not received official communication from US authorities regarding the cases. She emphasized that the PNP would consult with higher authorities before any potential implementation of orders from foreign jurisdictions.

Quiboloy, in a recent audio message, denied the allegations against him and accused the US government, allegedly with Philippine officials’ aid, of plotting his “elimination” through rendition.
