The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is exploring the possibility of establishing an OFW Lounge in Cebu City. After attending the Asian Carrier Conference, OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio toured the city to scout potential locations for a Seafarers Hub and an OFW Lounge.
In addition to his search for new facilities, Ignacio also visited the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Satellite Office at Robinsons Malls in Cebu to ensure the efficiency of services provided to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Following this, he proceeded to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 7 to discuss the renovation plans for the OWWA Regional Welfare Office.
OFW lounges are designated spaces at Philippine airports designed to offer comfort and convenience to OFWs before and after their flights. These lounges typically feature comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, charging stations, complimentary food and drinks, restrooms, and televisions.
