Pinoys in Dubai invited to join free CPR and AED workshop this July 25, 2025 at consulate

Filipinos in Dubai are stepping up in support of the city’s goal to become a “Heart Safe City,” with a free training initiative launched by the Philippine Consulate General in partnership with Hayat Institute.

Set to take place on July 25, 2025, at the Consulate’s Rizal Hall, the Sagip: Dubai Heart Safe City Certification Training will equip Filipino nationals and other community members with vital skills in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The training is part of the Consulate’s Labindalawa campaign, a year-round series of outreach activities.

Participants will receive a DHA-endorsed certification valid for two years, reinforcing the initiative’s alignment with the Dubai Health Authority’s broader efforts to prepare residents for life-saving response in cardiac emergencies.

“Sagip,” meaning “to rescue” in Filipino, reflects the spirit of the training—empowering ordinary individuals, including parents, students, teachers, and workers, to act swiftly and effectively when lives are on the line.

“We express our full support for the vision of a Heart Safe Dubai and thank the Hayat Institute for allowing us to take part in this important cause,” said Consul General Marford M. Angeles. “Through Sagip, we uphold a culture of preparedness and compassion. It is an invitation to serve with purpose and respond with courage. Each trained hand strengthens our community’s resilience.”
