Pinoy wins $500,000 or P28.3M in lotto; plans to buy home in Canada

A Filipino resident in Canada transformed a routine gas stop into a half-a-million-dollar jackpot.

After checking his lottery ticket at an Esso station on 96th Avenue and 168th Street, Kenneth Ramos discovered he had matched all four Extra numbers in the Aug. 8 Lotto Max draw.

Recalling the moment, Ramos shared, “I was speechless and walked away, only to return a few minutes later to double-check.” His disbelief mirrored that of his wife, who was also left speechless upon hearing the good news.

With his newfound fortune, Ramos has expressed his intention to invest in his children’s education. Additionally, he aspires to buy a home in British Columbia and to construct an apartment back in his home country, the Philippines. The winning ticket, coincidentally, was purchased at the very same Esso station where he verified his win.
