From serving fries at a fast food chain to leading one of Dubai’s most breathtaking events, Julie De Guzman has come a long way. When she arrived in the UAE in 2010, she was simply chasing her dream to work abroad and help her family. Fifteen years later, she found herself at the helm of the production team behind the grand opening of Dubai Miracle Garden’s 14th season—a historic milestone for the Filipino community.
For the first time in the garden’s history, a Filipino-led production team managed the entire opening ceremony, and 98% of the entertainers were Filipinos. “It was a proud moment for all of us,” Julie shared. “To see our kababayans bringing life, color, and artistry to one of Dubai’s most iconic attractions—nakakatuwa talaga.”
The Dubai Miracle Garden, inaugurated by Sheikh Theyab Bin Tahnoon Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan on September 29, 2025, unveiled over 150 million blooming flowers across 72,000 square meters, with new family attractions and floral installations. But for Julie, the most beautiful part wasn’t just the flowers—it was the people who made it happen.
Building a career rooted in passion
Before venturing into events, Julie worked as a junior restaurant manager in the Philippines and later joined oil and gas companies in the UAE. It wasn’t until 2017 that she decided to follow her true passion—event management. “I’ve always loved organizing gatherings and bringing people together. Turning that passion into a business was one of my best decisions,” she said.

Her success didn’t come overnight. Julie recalled countless challenges she faced as an OFW and an entrepreneur. “I’ve had many painful experiences and struggles,” she said. “But giving up was never an option. I always put my faith and trust in God, and my family has been my greatest motivation.”
A message of faith and perseverance
When asked what advice she would give to dreamers, Julie’s words carried the same strength that guided her journey. “To anyone building from scratch, doubting your worth, or wondering if it’s worth it—keep going,” she said. “The dream is valid. The journey is messy. But the reward? Life-changing.”
