Pinoy in New Zealand almost mistaken for a thief by grandmother upon surprise visit

A Filipino man residing in New Zealand, Peter Paul Paterno, shared a humorous yet heartwarming story when his grandmother in Albay almost mistook him for a thief.

After living abroad for a decade, Peter returned to the Philippines without informing his family, hoping to surprise his grandmother. However, the long separation caused his grandmother to not recognize him, and she nearly hit him with a broom, thinking he was a burglar.

Once Peter revealed his identity, his grandmother embraced him warmly. The two spent two weeks together, reconnecting after their time apart.
