Pinay OFW battling Stage 3 cancer flown back to Philippines to reunite with family

A Filipino worker from Pidigan, Abra, who has been diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer, has been safely brought home through a medical repatriation arranged by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

The 45-year-old OFW had been employed overseas for several years to support her family. According to OWWA, she decided to return to the Philippines to continue treatment and reunite with loved ones after receiving her diagnosis abroad.

OWWA Regional Office–Cordillera Administrative Region facilitated her arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, where personnel met her to ensure proper care and a smooth transit back to Abra. The agency coordinated closely with her family to manage her safe transfer home.

During the arrival assistance, OWWA also provided details on various medical, welfare, and financial support programs available to her as she begins treatment in the country.

Her family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the agency’s swift and compassionate response, acknowledging the support extended to her during a difficult time.
