Pinas Group awards scholarships to six OFWs in Dubai on CEO’s birthday

In celebration of Marlyn Castro’s birthday, the esteemed CEO of Pinas Group of Companies, the organization has awarded six new scholarships to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Dubai. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing program to empower OFWs by providing opportunities for technical and vocational training. The application for the scholarship is open to all loyal PinasCargonics.

This scholarship program is conducted in partnership with the Power Technical Training Center, an institution licensed and certified by both the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The new scholarship recipients are:

Grace Tamani – Events Management

Marie Lisa Tuliao – Events Management

Ailyn Sualog – Dressmaking

Adrian Gonzales – IT Networking

Raichelle Santiago – Events Management

Arlyn Cabi-oc – Dressmaking

Grace Tamani, who works as a babysitter, plans to return to the Philippines soon. “Napili ko pong course ang Events Management dahil po plan ko na din po makauwi at makasama ang pamilya ko, makakatulong po ito sa pagsisimula ng negosyo or makabalik po sa dati kong trabaho in line po sa hospitality industry,” she shared.

Marie Lisa Tuliao, a housemaid for 13 years without changing employers, expressed her hopes for the future. “Para po makatulong sa kabuhayan in the near future kapag hindi na tayo OFW at pandagdag po sa income pambuhay sa pamilya,” she said.

Previously, Pinas Group awarded scholarships to Daisy Santok (Welding) and Jestoni Nolasco (Massage Therapy). Daisy, who has worked as an all-around housemaid for thirteen years, is now enjoying her training as a welding student. “I am really fond of learning and take every opportunity to learn something new. As for my life quote, ‘Learning is a continuous process.’ I am dreaming of changing my career, trying something new, and exploring,” she shared.

These scholarships are aimed at helping OFWs enhance their professional skills and open up new career opportunities. Through this program, Pinas Group of Companies reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Filipino community in Dubai, contributing to their personal and professional growth.
