A young pilot lost her life after completing a flight for Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. Julia Flori Monzon Po, daughter of billionaire aviation magnate Archie Po, died when her helicopter crashed in Nueva Ecija on Saturday, February 3.
According to a Bilyonaryo report, the 25-year-old was flying back to Manila after dropping off Dela Rosa in Baguio City when her Robinson R44 light helicopter went down in a swamp in Barangay San Miguel, Guimba, around 5 p.m.
Prior to the crash, Po experienced engine trouble before takeoff in Binalonan, Pangasinan, delaying her departure for two hours. She eventually took off at 4:30 p.m., but initial reports suggest an engine failure led to the fatal accident.
Po’s remains are now at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. Her father, owner of Lion Air, traveled to Nueva Ecija with her brother Justine and TV host Willie Revillame, who had frequently flown with her, to retrieve her body.
