Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach addressed the negative direct messages (DMs) she frequently receives, highlighting a recent comment where a netizen wished for her to become a “divorced single mother.”
Calling the remark “exhausting and hurtful,” Wurtzbach urged netizens to put an end to toxic online behavior. “Just another day, another DM. Wild, right? C’mon people. Bagong taon na. Nag CNY pa. It’s exhausting and hurtful, din ha. Let’s stop normalizing this kind of online behavior,” she wrote on her social media.
She also encouraged her followers to foster a more positive space online. “Out na natin yung ganito for 2025, and instead, let’s be nice to each other and support and uplift one another,” she added.
The same netizen also accused Wurtzbach of being unable to afford a unique Hermes luxury piece.
Despite the negativity, Wurtzbach continues to make strides in the fashion industry. In 2024, she was recognized as one of the most visible fashion influencers, ranking 18th with $38.4 million in earned media value. She was also named a top influencer at Milan Fashion Week and received the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year award in Dubai.
While she recently confirmed skipping Paris Fashion Week this year, Wurtzbach remains a major figure in global fashion circles.
