The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has introduced address verification through its Postal ID to ensure accurate and reliable delivery services for individual customers and e-commerce businesses. This move aims to enhance customer satisfaction and transaction security.
PHLPost described the Postal ID as a functional card that acts as a security tool for verifying customer addresses. This feature is expected to benefit online businesses by guaranteeing that customers use the correct delivery address.
“Government and private institutions can use the Postal ID to verify a recipient’s identity and address. Address verification service is a basic service offered by other postal administrations around the globe,” PHLPost said.
Customers interested in applying for a Postal ID can visit PHLPost capture stations nationwide, with a list of requirements provided on their official website. Mobile enrollment services are also available for barangays, businesses, and events, with updates shared on the Postal ID Facebook page.
To further streamline delivery processes, PHLPost offers the Online Verification System (POVS), allowing private and government entities to authenticate Postal IDs during deliveries.
PHLPost advised the public to avoid scams promising Postal ID assistance on social media, emphasizing that applications and payments should be conducted directly at Post Office sites.
Highlighting the Postal ID’s three-year validity, PHLPost confirmed it is accepted for transactions with various government and financial institutions. The company is also advancing its “Postal Trinity,” which includes establishing Barangay Postal Stations to enhance last-mile delivery and registration services in remote areas.
