The number of unemployed Filipinos in the Philippines has seen a further decrease in November 2023. According to the latest Labor Force Survey conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there is a noticeable reduction in joblessness among the workforce.
During a press briefing held on Tuesday, PSA chief and National Statistician Claire Dennis Mapa revealed that the count of jobless individuals aged 15 and above has reduced to approximately 1.83 million. This figure marks a decline from the 2.09 million unemployed reported in October 2023.
In terms of percentages, the unemployment rate now stands at 3.6% out of the total 51.47 million people in the labor force who are actively seeking work. To put it into perspective, this rate translates to about 36 out of every 1,000 individuals in the labor force being without a job or livelihood in November 2023.
