Philippines, Oman strengthen partnership for OFW welfare

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman have pledged to boost cooperation aimed at safeguarding the welfare and rights of overseas Filipinos.

During a courtesy visit held at the CFO Boardroom in Pasay City, CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II welcomed Omani Ambassador Nasser Said Abdullah Al Manwari and Commercial Section Officer Ahmed Ghazal for a bilateral dialogue on migration-related concerns and potential joint initiatives.

Ang outlined the Commission’s mandate to ensure “safe, orderly, and dignified migration” while emphasizing the importance of close international coordination to better protect Filipino migrants. CFO officials also presented the agency’s flagship programs and services designed to assist Filipinos before, during, and after migration.

The Omani delegation later toured the CFO facilities, observing its frontline services and interacting with staff. The visit concluded with an open forum that reinforced both sides’ shared goal of enhancing the welfare and protection mechanisms for overseas Filipino workers.
