Philippines grants visa-free entry for Indian nationals effective May 23, 2025

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai has officially announced an updated visa policy granting Indian nationals visa-free entry to the Philippines starting May 23, 2025, under specific conditions outlined by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

14-day visa-free entry for tourists

Indian passport holders may enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days, provided the visit is strictly for tourism and the traveler enters through major international airports, secondary hubs, or seaports (including cruise ship arrivals). However, four key conditions must be satisfied:

  • The stay must not exceed 14 days.
  • The purpose of the visit must be tourism only.
  • The traveler must have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration.
  • Transit passengers with destinations beyond the Philippines must secure a Philippine transit visa.

It is important to note that the 14-day visa-free privilege cannot be extended and is not convertible to other visa categories.

Travelers must present the following documents upon arrival:

  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay;
  • Confirmed hotel accommodation or booking;
  • Proof of financial capacity (e.g., bank statement or employment certificate);
  • A return or onward ticket to the next destination.

30-day visa-free entry with AJACSSUK visas or PR permits

Indian nationals who hold valid visas or permanent residency in the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen states, Singapore, or the United Kingdom — collectively referred to as AJACSSUK — may enjoy a longer visa-free stay of up to 30 days.

To qualify for this, travelers must:

  • Hold a valid AJACSSUK visa or permanent residence permit;
  • Have no derogatory record with Philippine immigration;
  • Travel solely for tourism purposes.

As with the 14-day option, the 30-day visa-free entry is also non-convertible to other visa types.

Required documents at the port of entry include:

  • A valid AJACSSUK visa or PR permit;
  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond the planned stay;
  • A return or onward travel ticket.

For those wishing to stay beyond 30 days, an application for a visa must be made at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai or any Philippine Embassy or Consulate in India or in the country of legal residence.

The Consulate emphasized that the advisory serves as part of the Philippines’ ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and tourism ties with India, while ensuring border security through proper immigration checks.
