Philippines’ average daily internet use hits 4.6 hours in 2024; NCR leads with 6.1 hours

Filipinos spent an average of 4.6 hours per day on the internet in 2024, based on preliminary data from the 2024 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS). The survey, conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), highlights regional differences in digital engagement across the country.

Among the 17 regions, Metro Manila (NCR) recorded the highest daily internet usage, averaging 6.1 hours. It was followed by Calabarzon (Region IV-A) at 5.3 hours and Western Visayas (Region VI) at 4.5 hours. These figures significantly surpassed the national average.

Other regions with above-average usage include Central Luzon (Region III) with 4.1 hours, Bicol Region (Region V) at 4.2 hours, and Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) also at 4.4 hours. In contrast, the lowest average was seen in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) at just 3.4 hours, followed closely by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Mimaropa, both at 3.5 hours.
