The Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has earned the Silver Award for Exhibition Design, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) announced on Monday.
The recognition, given by the Bureau International des Expositions—the governing body of World Expos—honors self-built pavilions under 1,500 square meters that showcase outstanding storytelling and design.
Since its opening in April, the pavilion has drawn more than one million visitors, offering an immersive journey through Filipino artistry, innovation, and heritage under the theme “Nature, Culture & Community: Woven Together for a Better Future.”
Marking a historic first for the Philippines in World Expo participation, the pavilion’s live performance façade featured over 200 handwoven panels crafted by artisans from all 18 regions of the country—an unprecedented collaboration that celebrated local craftsmanship.
Inside, guests experienced interactive and sensory attractions, including AI-powered “Dancing with Nature” installations, 18 large-scale woven artworks, the Habi Shop, a Hilot wellness corner, and AI photobooths showcasing the nation’s creativity in both tradition and technology.
The TPB said that several of the pavilion’s elements will be repatriated to the National Museum of the Philippines and selected regional sites, while others will be displayed at the ASEAN Tourism Forum and Travex in Cebu in January 2026.
Expo 2025 Osaka ran from April 13 to October 13.
