Philippine passport ranking slips to 75th on 2025 Henley Passport Index

The Philippine passport dropped two places in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, now ranking 75th among the world’s most powerful passports. Filipino travelers can access 67 countries without requiring a visa, a slight decline from the previous ranking of 73rd.

Singapore retained its title as the most powerful passport globally, offering visa-free access to 195 destinations. Japan followed in second place with access to 193 destinations, while Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Spain shared third place with visa-free access to 192 countries.

Rounding out the top five were Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, with access to 191 destinations, and Belgium, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, which grant entry to 190 destinations.

This marks Singapore’s fifth time topping the list, previously ranking first in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024. The city-state also ranked 14th in the openness index, allowing visa-free entry for 164 nationalities out of 198.

The Henley Passport Index assesses the travel freedom of 199 countries and 227 destinations based on data from the International Air Transport Association. The ranking awards points for visa-free access, visa-on-arrival, electronic travel authorization, or visitor’s permits. Countries requiring traditional visas or government-approved e-visas before departure are not counted.
