In celebration of the 127th founding anniversary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Filipino diplomats and staff in the UAE were recently honored for their dedicated service through the 2025 Loyalty Awards.
In Abu Dhabi, Philippine Ambassador H.E. Alfonso A. Ver led the list of awardees, receiving recognition for his 35 years of service to the Foreign Service. Deputy Head of Mission Arvic V. Arevalo was acknowledged for 25 years, while Finance Officer Cherry Mel C. Canceran, Ma. Teresa C. Pascual, Allan G. Tapang, Benjie C. Waga, William P. Patricio, Alexander G. Quiray, Joyce F. Retazo, and the late Rodolfo Agumbay were all honored for 15 years of commitment.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates also paid tribute to its own loyal personnel. Ismael G. Alcano Jr., Carlo S. Bongon, Lizel L. Loraña-Tiu, Milben V. Millamina, and local hire Joyce N. Calma were each recognized for 15 years of service. Awardees for 10 years included Dennis Alos, Charisse Michelin V. Sarion, and local hire Marc Angelo A. Castro.
The Consulate emphasized that these individuals embody the spirit of service that defines the DFA. “Your continued service inspires all of us to serve with purpose and pride,” the Consulate stated in an official post. “You have upheld the values of the Foreign Service with quiet excellence and unwavering integrity.”
