Philippine First Lady Liza Marcos meets UAE’s Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan to discuss cultural ties

Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of the UAE President, hosted Louise Araneta-Marcos, the First Lady of the Philippines, during her working visit to the UAE. The reception, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, was also attended by H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects and Chairperson of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation.

Sheikha Salama warmly welcomed the First Lady, wishing her a pleasant stay and a fruitful visit. Louise Araneta-Marcos expressed her gratitude for the hospitality and her pleasure at being in the UAE.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations in culture, arts, and heritage. Both parties discussed initiatives to enrich cultural and artistic landscapes, emphasizing early childhood development and human capital investment.

Sheikha Salama highlighted the UAE’s dedication to culture, arts, and heritage as integral to its development vision. She emphasized the UAE’s efforts to nurture creative talents and enhance the cultural sector.

The First Lady of the Philippines praised the UAE’s cultural and developmental strides, particularly the empowerment of Emirati women, spearheaded by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. She commended Emirati women’s significant role in national development and praised Sheikha Salama’s initiatives in culture and heritage.

The event was attended by Sheikha Fakhra bint Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with several Sheikhas, female leaders, and members of the Philippine delegation.
