The Philippine Embassy in the UAE and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai have issued a strong reminder to Filipinos in the region to seize the opportunity offered by the UAE Amnesty Program, which runs until December 31, 2024. The program provides an avenue for individuals with expired or overstayed residency and visit visas to regularize their status or leave the country without facing penalties.
In a recent announcement shared on their social media platforms, the Embassy highlighted the program’s significance in helping Filipinos avoid fines and potential legal repercussions. The post emphasized the importance of acting promptly: “Hanggang 31 December 2024 na lamang ang UAE Amnesty Program! Huwag palampasin ang pagkakataon!”
The UAE Amnesty Program aligns with the country’s commitment to humanitarian initiatives and coincides with the celebration of the UAE’s Union Day. As part of this initiative, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) extended the program to accommodate the significant number of individuals seeking to adjust their status or return to their home countries.
Filipinos residing in the UAE are urged to contact the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai for further assistance. According to the social media announcement, individuals can reach out through the following channels:
