Philippine Coast Guard rescues two fishermen stranded off Bataan

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully rescued two fishermen after their motorbanca encountered engine trouble off the coast of Bagac, Bataan, on Friday, December 20.

The PCG received a report about the stranded vessel, Martina Leigh, around 8:03 a.m. Fishermen Giovannie Austria and Angelo Pilote were aboard the boat when it broke down.

In response, the Coast Guard Station in Bataan coordinated a search and rescue operation, deploying the BRP Cabra to locate the fishermen. The mission was successful, with the rescue team reaching the stranded boat by evening.

Due to unfavorable sea conditions, the BRP Cabra informed the fishermen that docking would be delayed until the following morning. The vessel arrived safely at Lamao Port on Saturday, December 21, at 7:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, the fishermen underwent a medical checkup by the Barangay Lamao Rural Health Unit, confirming they were in good health.
