Businessman Philip Laude has filed a petition for a writ of habeas data against Mae Larra Sumicad, also known as Precious Larra Su, following allegations that she shared screenshots implying a romantic relationship between them.
Laude, who is married to vlogger and businesswoman Small Laude, submitted the petition to the Pasig City Regional Trial Court, San Juan Station, last week. The petition seeks protection of his right to informational privacy and aims to suppress or correct any data linked to the claims.
According to an Abogado.com report, the writ of habeas data serves as a legal recourse for individuals whose privacy or security has been compromised through the collection or sharing of personal information.
The court has ordered Sumicad to respond with a verified return and affidavits outlining her legal defenses. She must also disclose the nature and purpose of the data in her possession, explain measures taken to ensure its confidentiality, and confirm its accuracy.
Reports suggest that an Instagram account under the name “preciouslarra_su” shared messages purportedly showing Laude declaring his love for Sumicad. Neither Laude nor his wife, a prominent social media figure, have addressed the allegations publicly.
