PhilHealth has raised its hemodialysis benefit package to P6,350 per session, significantly increasing annual financial coverage for patients with chronic kidney disease stage 5 (CKD5). The new maximum financial protection now reaches up to P990,600 per year, a jump from the previous P624,000.
This adjustment follows a previous increase in July, which set the package at P4,000 per session. However, reports from patients indicated they were still facing substantial out-of-pocket costs, prompting further action from PhilHealth.
PhilHealth’s Circular No. 2024-0023, which took effect on October 7, outlines additional services covered under the package. These include essential medications, laboratory tests, supplies, and administrative fees associated with dialysis sessions, such as machine use and facility fees.
