The government provided around 3,600 job opportunities to graduates of poverty reduction programs during a job fair in Dasmariñas City on Friday, ABS-CBN News reported.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. attended the Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas event, which was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The job fair catered to graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
A total of 41 employers, including 38 local companies and three overseas firms, participated in the event. Marcos highlighted the significance of job fairs in sustaining the progress of former beneficiaries.
The job fair also featured a one-stop shop where various government agencies offered pre-employment screening and services. Meanwhile, DOLE distributed P5,600 each to 500 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
Other assistance included financial and livelihood aid under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and P3,000 cash grants for AICS beneficiaries from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The Department of Health (DOH) provided free medical consultations, vaccinations, and screening laboratory services. Meanwhile, Kadiwa stalls from the Department of Agriculture (DA) offered affordable food products, with the National Food Authority selling rice at P29 and P35 per kilo.
Marcos underscored the importance of a whole-of-government approach in delivering efficient public service.
