Filipino children and teenagers in the United Arab Emirates are being invited by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi to take part in a photography contest marking National Arts Month 2026, with the call focused on visual storytelling around courage.
The competition is anchored on the theme Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting, which centers on how artistic expression conveys truth, bravery, and collective effort, and how these values shape communities, governance, and sustainability. Participants are asked to respond visually to the prompt, “What does Courage Look Like to Me?”
According to the embassy, entries may portray a wide range of interpretations, from everyday acts of resilience within families to moments of personal strength or images that highlight modern-day heroes. Each submission must include a short written description explaining the photograph.
The contest is open to Filipino youth in the UAE aged 8 to 17. Each participant may submit one original photograph taken by the entrant. Selected winners will be featured by the embassy and will receive special awards.
Entries must be sent in PNG format to abudhabi.pe@dfa.gov.ph, with submissions accepted until February 18, 2026.
