Just in time for Dubai’s intense summer heat, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai is launching its first-ever Kalinga health talk on July 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Rizal Hall. The event, held in partnership with UAE-based Cosmo Cosmetics, marks the beginning of a wellness-centered campaign aimed at promoting practical and holistic care for overseas Filipinos.
The inaugural session will be led by skincare expert Ms. Sadhana Bharti Tejram, who will share evidence-based strategies for protecting and nourishing the skin in the UAE’s harsh climate. Her talk will tackle essential topics such as sun protection, hydration, and ingredient selection for oily or sensitive skin — all geared toward affordability and accessibility.
Consul General Marford M. Angeles underscored the importance of the initiative, stating, “Our skin is our first line of defense and during the summer, it takes a beating from heat, UV rays, and pollution. Through the Kalinga health series, we want to give our kababayans the knowledge and tools to take care of themselves, not just aesthetically, but as a matter of dignity and self-respect. This is wellness in action.”
The seminar is part of the Consulate’s Labindalawa campaign, an umbrella initiative focused on monthly programs for the welfare of Filipinos in the UAE. It also supports the Philippine Consulate’s efforts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to health, gender equality, and sustainable living.
