Pay-to-park at Dubai Mall: What you need to know about the new system

Starting in the third quarter of 2024, visitors to Dubai Mall will need to pay for parking as a new barrier-free system is introduced. This initiative, a collaboration between Emaar Malls and Salik, will utilize automated vehicle plate recognition to charge parking fees directly from customers’ Salik accounts.

How does the new payment system work?

The new system will function similarly to Salik’s toll charges, using vehicle plate recognition to deduct parking fees automatically. This process aims to eliminate the need for gates or barriers, thereby reducing congestion and improving traffic flow within the mall’s parking areas.

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO and board member of Salik Company PJSC, stated in a Whats On UAE article, “Salik is ideally placed to provide this seamless and convenient customer journey, with the solution eliminating the need for gates or barriers at Dubai Mall, helping to minimize congestion and traffic for the customers.”
