The World Health Organization (WHO) facilitated the evacuation of 55 patients and 72 caregivers from Gaza to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday for advanced medical care, AFP reported.
The patients are being treated for various conditions, including autoimmune and blood disorders, cancer, cardiovascular issues, trauma injuries, and neurological and renal diseases, according to the WHO.
Despite this effort, the health agency emphasized the ongoing crisis, revealing that over 12,000 patients in Gaza still require urgent medical evacuation for specialized treatment outside the region.
