Passengers startled as plane unexpectedly tilts backward after landing

A JetBlue aircraft experienced a startling tilt backward upon landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday night. Flight 662, arriving from Bridgetown, Barbados, was seen with its nose pointing skyward at a roughly 30-degree angle as passengers disembarked.

Social media users captured the unusual scene, with videos quickly making rounds online.

JetBlue representatives confirmed on Monday that the incident occurred due to “a shift in weight and balance during deplaning.” They assured the public that the plane eventually returned to its normal position and, importantly, no passengers were harmed.

As a precaution, the airline has since removed the aircraft from service to undergo a thorough inspection.
