A Liberian passenger was arrested by customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after attempting to smuggle 1,660 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 24.90 crore (Dh10.9 million). The individual, who arrived on a flight from Dubai, was apprehended based on profiling by customs authorities.
The arrest was made under India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act of 1985. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
This follows a similar seizure on September 8, when Delhi Customs confiscated 280 grams of cocaine from a Ugandan female passenger arriving from Entebbe via Sharjah.
