A passenger attempting to smuggle cocaine by concealing it inside his intestines was apprehended at Zayed International Airport, thanks to the vigilance of the General Directorate of Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICAPC).
The suspect, who arrived from a South American country, aroused suspicion during routine customs checks. Advanced scanning technology revealed unusual foreign objects inside his body, prompting authorities to conduct further investigation. Upon examination, 89 capsules containing cocaine, weighing approximately 1,198 grams, were extracted from the passenger’s intestines. The seized drugs are estimated to have a street value of Dh5 million.
