Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, along with three other local officials, is facing graft charges following accusations that city hall employees were made to sign receipts for P1,500 but were instead given t-shirts. The complaint, filed by Pasig resident Michelle Prudencio with the Office of the Ombudsman on July 30, alleges that the act violates the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Government Procurement Reform Act.
The complaint names Sotto, human resource head Elvira Flores, city administrator Jeron Manzanero, and bids and awards committee head Josephine Lati-Bagaoisan as respondents. Prudencio claims that on June 28, city hall employees were supposed to receive a P1,500 allowance for uniforms or costumes during Pasig’s foundation day but were instead handed t-shirts.
Sotto has not yet commented on this complaint but previously dismissed another graft case filed against him, describing it as a “dirty tactic” by political groups. The earlier case involved allegations of granting a 100 percent tax discount to Converge in 2022.
