Partnership between UAE companies expected to generate 13,500 new jobs by 2028

Adnoc and Nafis have announced a partnership to generate 13,500 new employment opportunities for UAE nationals within Adnoc’s supply chain by 2028. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create 100,000 private sector jobs for Emiratis over the next three years, targeting high-skilled positions in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), engineering, and manufacturing.

According to a WAM report, the agreement includes offering job and training opportunities to Emiratis in the Al Dhafra region this year. Adnoc will also provide 1,000 vocational training opportunities for UAE university graduates through Nafis’s Apprentice Programme, facilitating placements in private companies within Adnoc’s supply chain.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Adnoc’s Managing Director and Group CEO, emphasized the importance of nurturing local talent. “Through this new agreement with Nafis, we will provide more private-sector job opportunities for local talent, enabling them to contribute to the UAE’s industrial and economic growth,” he said.

This collaboration builds on the success of Adnoc’s In-Country Value (ICV) programme, which has already created 11,500 jobs for Emiratis in the private sector since 2018. With this new agreement, Adnoc aims to increase the total number of private sector jobs to 25,000 by 2028, accelerating UAE talent development and expanding the ICV programme’s scope.

The next phase of the ICV programme will see Adnoc partnering with more local and international companies, fostering Emirati entrepreneurs, micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (mSMEs), and talented UAE nationals to enhance the country’s self-sufficiency. The targeted sectors for this expansion include advanced technology, manufacturing, transportation, and lower-carbon solutions.
