Palawan has once again captured the world’s attention after being named the top island destination for 2025 by US-based publication US News & World Report.
In its recently released list of the “World’s Best Islands to Visit for 2025,” the outlet praised Palawan for offering a mix of thrilling adventures and relaxing escapes. It highlighted must-visit spots like Kayangan Lake in Coron, the lagoons of Bacuit Bay in El Nido, and the famous underground river in Puerto Princesa. Visitors seeking a slower pace were also encouraged to unwind on the province’s quiet beaches or snorkel among vibrant marine life.
The report also advised travelers to plan their trips during the dry months from November to May, noting it as the ideal season to fully experience Palawan’s beauty.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco welcomed the international recognition, describing it as a validation of the island’s unmatched natural wonders. “This incredible honor affirms what we Filipinos have always known: that Palawan, with its pristine turquoise waters, towering limestone cliffs, majestic underground rivers and rich biodiversity, is truly a paradise unlike any other,” she said.
Frasco added that Palawan’s new accolade supports the country’s broader push for sustainable and inclusive tourism, while showcasing the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people.
Joining Palawan on the prestigious list were other renowned destinations such as Sardinia in Italy, Santorini in Greece, the Maldives, Fiji, and Bora Bora.
