Malacañang Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro offered a brief remark when asked about the Duterte family’s aggressive campaigning for the 2025 midterm elections, saying, “Good luck.”
Vice President Sara Duterte earlier confirmed that their family will go all-out in endorsing their slate of senatorial candidates, following instructions from former President Rodrigo Duterte to directly urge voters for a straight vote.
“Humingi kasi ako ng tulong dahil konti na lang ‘yung oras at ang utos sa akin ni PRRD ay idiretso sa mga tao, diretso sabihin sa kanila na i-block vote, i-straight voting ‘yung sampu. So humingi ako ng tulong,” the vice president said during an interview in Negros Occidental.
Among those endorsed by the former president are Senator Bong Go, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, lawyer-singer Jimmy Bondoc, lawyer Raul Lambino, actor Philip Salvador, lawyer Jayvee Hinlo, Sagip party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta, detained pastor Apollo Quiboloy, former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez, and Dr. Richard Mata.
Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte added that their father is also backing retired Colonel Ariel Querubin and former senator Gringo Honasan.
