Palace: No threat to President Marcos’ life

Malacañang on Wednesday assured the public that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. faces no danger to his life despite questions over his absence from public events in recent days.

In a GMA News Online report, Press Officer Undersecretary Atty.

Castro clarified that Marcos had been busy with private meetings and continued to carry out his responsibilities away from the spotlight.

The President’s last public appearance was on Saturday, when he inspected the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila and launched the new white-colored Beep cards for students at the Legarda station of the LRT-2. That engagement came just a day before large September 21 rallies took place in Metro Manila amid congressional scrutiny of alleged misuse of flood control funds.

On Tuesday, Castro also said Marcos was closely monitoring the country’s weather situation as Super Typhoon Nando threatened parts of the Philippines.
