Malacañang has dismissed claims that First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos was detained by law enforcement authorities in the United States.
“There is no truth that the First Lady was held by any law enforcers while in LA or any other place,” Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said on Thursday.
According to Castro, the First Lady returned to Manila on Monday morning after a working visit to the US. During her trip, she participated in the Meeting of the Minds and the Manila International Film Festival from March 5 to 8, making stops in Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California.
On March 11, Marcos resumed her engagements in the Philippines, leading the turnover of donations to the Girl Scouts of the Philippines in Manila.
