Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the cessation of its commercial flights between Baguio and Cebu, effective July 1, 2024, due to low passenger numbers.
The cancellation of this route means travelers from Cebu seeking the Baguio experience or conducting business there will now need to rely on sea and land transport. Similarly, residents of Baguio and nearby Luzon areas will face the same travel adjustments.
The current flight duration between Cebu and Baguio is approximately one hour and 45 minutes. In contrast, traveling by land from Cebu to Manila takes about 21 hours via the Maharlika Highway, with an additional four to five hours to reach Baguio from Manila.
PAL initially launched the Baguio-Cebu route in December 2022. The airline has assured passengers affected by this route cancellation that they will receive the necessary assistance and refunds.
