PAL revives aviation school with global training program for future pilots

Philippine Airlines is gearing up to reopen its PAL Aviation School through a new collaboration with international flight training provider Airways Aviation Group, marking a significant move to nurture a new generation of globally competitive Filipino pilots.

The initiative includes a two-phase training program—starting with foundational lessons and cadet assessments in the Philippines, followed by intensive aviation theory and flight training in Australia. There, students will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge aviation technology under the guidance of seasoned experts.

PAL emphasized that its choice of partner was deliberate and strategic. “Airways Aviation met our stringent requirements and demonstrated their robust emphasis on safety culture and competency-based training methodologies,” said PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley Ng.

Beyond developing technical skills, the program also aims to shape future-ready aviation professionals. PAL EVP Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez stated, “We hope to train pilots who are not only outstanding in their craft but also committed to building a sustainable future for aviation.”
