PAL ranked 2nd most preferred airline in Southeast Asia by global flyer survey

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier, continues to soar higher as it was voted the 2nd Most Preferred Airline in Southeast Asia in the 2025 Flyer’s Choice Awards by AirlineRatings.com.

The recognition is a major boost for PAL, reflecting the trust and appreciation of flyers across the region. The award is especially meaningful as it is based purely on passenger votes, underscoring PAL’s growing reputation for delivering quality service and a heartfelt Filipino flying experience. The airline has long carried the tagline “The Heart of the Filipino”, a slogan now mirrored by international travelers’ overwhelming votes.

The Flyer’s Choice Awards evaluated carriers on various criteria such as customer service, cabin crew performance, safety, in-flight experience, and brand impact. PAL’s consistent on-time performance—86.07% on-time arrival rate according to Cirium data—as well as its dedication to cleanliness, comfort, and care, likely played key roles in securing the high ranking.

Beyond this accolade, PAL recently marked its 15th consecutive profitable quarter, reporting a 48% year-on-year net income increase in Q2 2025, fueled by a 9% growth in passenger traffic. With 4.4 million passengers flown in the quarter, the airline’s resilience and recovery momentum have been evident.

PAL has also continued to build strong global connections. It recently expanded its strategic partnerships with international carriers like Alaska Airlines, Saudia, and Qatar Airways, broadening travel access and mileage rewards for its loyal customers.

Internally, the airline celebrated 95 long-serving employees this year, including two who have been with the company for 40 years—an acknowledgment of the loyalty and dedication behind PAL’s operational backbone.
