Pakistan has introduced a new visa policy aimed at boosting tourism and foreign investment, making it easier for travelers from Dubai and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to visit. The streamlined visa process allows nationals from 126 countries to apply online, with no fees and only 30 questions to answer. The visa can be obtained within 10 minutes, and for residents of GCC countries, a visa-on-arrival is now available.
The new visas will be valid for three months and can be easily renewed. This initiative comes as Pakistan sees a rise in foreign tourists, particularly from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and seeks to enhance its tourist facilities.
Dubai International Airport recently reported that Pakistan was the fourth most popular destination for travelers in the first half of 2024, with 2.3 million passengers flying to the country, ranking it above the USA, Russia, and Germany.
Earlier this year, flydubai launched two new daily routes from Dubai to Islamabad and Lahore, further strengthening the travel links between the two countries. The Pakistani community in the UAE is significant, with 2.09 million residents, making up 16.72% of the total population.
