Motorists driving into Jumeirah Village Circle will face parking charges beginning March 16, as PARKONIC brings its cashless, ticketless system to the residential community.
The scheme operates through automatic number plate recognition, with no physical meters, cash terminals, or QR code payment points installed on-site. Fees are tied to a vehicle’s registered Salik account, which is charged automatically upon exit if no manual session has been initiated beforehand.
Rates vary depending on the time of day and apply seven days a week, including public holidays. From 8am to 5pm, drivers will be charged AED 4 per hour or part thereof. The rate rises to AED 6 per hour during the evening period between 5pm and midnight. Parking is free between midnight and 8am.
Drivers who prefer not to rely on automatic Salik deduction can start a session manually through the SMS option, following instructions posted on signage across the community. This must be done before leaving the parking area. Vehicles not linked to a Salik account, or those carrying insufficient balance, are required to use this route.
Residents and regular users can sign up for membership packages through the PARKONIC+ app. Monthly packages are priced at AED 900 for standard vehicles and AED 500 for electric vehicles, while quarterly options cost AED 2,500 and AED 1,350 respectively.
PARKONIC has cautioned that unpaid fees may lead to fines, vehicle blacklisting, or referral to Dubai authorities.
